Futoshi Abe:Guitar
His favorite musicians include The Clash, The Who, The Doors, The Damned, Dr. Feelgood, Jimi Hendrix, and Makoto Ayukawa.
Influenced by Mick Green of Johnny Kidd & the Pirates and Wilco Johnson of Dr. Feelgood, he preferred riff-based songs and songs with a three-chord progression. In addition, his guitar style was a mixture of punk and mod nuances. He was also famous for being an assertive demon who always used amps with maximum output and tried to be the star of the show no matter what.
He remarked, “THEE MICHELLE GUN ELEPHANT’s songs are my guitar solos from the beginning to the end of the song.
His guitar solo was very powerful, switching to the front pickup to change the tone, using switching techniques, choking and glissando.
He held the pick with his middle finger, index finger and thumb to prevent it from falling off.
He was a guitarist who loved explosions, was self-promoting, and played super-powerful songs with less flashy phrases and inflections.
He played aggressively, as if he was fighting with the vocals.
For this reason, he never found a band that suited him until he joined THEE MICHELLE GUN ELEPHANT.
