This album was produced during the transitional period between Mick Taylor’s departure from the Rolling Stones and Ron Wood becoming an official member.
Three guitarists, Harvey Mandel, Wayne Perkins and Ron Wood, participated in the recording, probably because it was also an audition for guitarists.
The perfect fit for the Rolling Stones is Ron Wood, and you’ll know it when you hear Crazy Mama.
In the end, Ron Wood was chosen.
Ron Wood would go on to be the guitarist for the Rolling Stones for over 40 years.
The band did the right thing in choosing him.
